Professional Chase Cover Replacement Services

If you have a prefabricated or factory-built fireplace encased in a wood, vinyl, or stucco chimney chase, the metal top shielding it from the elements is your chase cover. Original builders often install cheap, flimsy galvanized metal covers that rust out, sag, and leak after just a few years.

A rusted or failing chase cover allows water to pool on top and seep down inside your walls, rotting wooden chase framing, destroying fireboxes, and causing costly interior water damage. Our certified technicians replace deteriorating chase pans with custom-fitted, heavy-duty stainless steel or copper chase covers guaranteed to protect your home for a lifetime.

Why Original Builder-Grade Chase Covers Fail

Most factory-installed chase covers are made from thin galvanized sheet metal that is flat and unpitched. Over time, environmental exposure leads to rapid failure:

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a chase cover and a chimney cap?
A chase cover is a large metal pan that covers the entire top opening of a wooden or vinyl-sided chimney chase (like a lid on a box). A chimney cap is a smaller metal hood that attaches directly to individual flue pipes or masonry tiles above the chase cover to keep rain and animals out of the exhaust pipe itself. Rust streaks mean your galvanized chase cover has rusted through its outer protective coating and is actively corroding. Every time it rains, water carries dissolved rust off the metal pan and streams down your siding, staining your exterior walls and signaling that water is likely leaking inside as well.
Unlike galvanized steel that rusts in 5 to 10 years, high-grade stainless steel chase covers are 100% rust-proof and engineered to last for the life of your home. They come with a lifetime material warranty against rust and corrosion.
Patching or painting over a rusted chase cover is only a temporary band-aid. Once galvanized metal begins rusting and sagging, the metal structure is compromised. Water will eventually find its way through hairline cracks in patches, leading to hidden framing rot inside the chase. Full replacement with stainless steel is the only permanent solution.
Quality top-mount dampers are engineered for harsh freeze-thaw climates. The heavy-duty internal spring mechanism exerts strong pressure to break through light surface ice or frost when you release the indoor cable bracket.
Cross-braking is a custom sheet-metal fabrication process where diagonal crease lines are bent into the metal pan in an “X” pattern. This slight upward elevation in the center prevents the metal from sagging under snow or rain, ensuring water automatically flows off the edges rather than forming standing puddles.
